Supporting UK school leavers to take their first step into seasonal work
Are you finishing school and wondering what’s next?Wanting to get out into the world as soon as possible?I have been in your position. Unsure of the traditional route, curious about what's out there, and looking for ways to do it - while earning money. Seasonal work has not only provided me freedom and enjoyment, but it has pushed me to learn new skills, integrate into communities, build confidence, and develop a sense of myself I would not have got from staying on traditional paths. What I Do:The Seasonal Step provides UK school leavers with support to transition confidently into international paid seasonal work opportunities overseas. Think - Australia, New Zealand, Japan and more...About Me:After studying Geography & International Relations at university, and then training as a secondary teacher in Oxford, I quickly realised my desire to explore and see more. I left my job in London, and over the past five years have moved between full-time seasonal roles across Australia, New Zealand and Scotland. Along the way I have built relationships with many people in the seasonal industries, and firmly believe that these opportunities present a valuable path towards skill-based learning, personal development and long-term travel. The stereotype of this work is defintiely one of shirking your adult responsibilties. This is not the reality that I have found or seen at all.So what can I offer you?I am now acting as both a mentor and hands-on logistical supporter to help you get out into the world, and set yourself up effectively in new countries. I can help you sort through your visa process, find good local accommodation, identify regions of the world that fit your personal aspirations, help you write effective and personalised outreach emails to seasonal employers and much more.I’ve navigated the uncertainty that comes with this kind of step - and believe I have a good idea about what works.Next Steps:If you have found yourself wanting to get out into the world once school finishes and could do with some mentoring or logistical support then please do get in touch! We can get started with a free 15-minute call to discuss your aspirations, regions of the world that intrigue you, and discuss how we can go forwardsFrom there, you can then choose if you want to go further with a 60-minute online call, or, book in multiple sessions for ongoing support. This is where we put your plan into action.📩 Get in touch via email to book your free call and start shaping your own path.I have seen the value in this way of life and I am excited to support you on your journey.
